A by-election could be decided by which candidate has the X-Factor. Conservative candidate Stuart Barr is a singing coach and conductor. He is also a judge in the BBC’s Young Musician of the Year.
Stuart has worked on other BBC music projects including Choir of the Year and Fame Academy. He co-ordinated Sing For Freedom in Clapham, an event to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.
Stuart said: “Conducting and coaching singers is all about listening hard and communicating what you think. It’s about being honest and yet encouraging, about finding solutions. When you see what potential Lambeth has if it was run better, you just want to get in there and make that a reality.”
