Rosendale Playing Fields – decision time

Council officers will soon start a consultation about spending up to £250,000 of taxpayers’ money on upgrading the Rosendale Playing Fields — home to the Lambeth Primary Schools Football League.

At first this consultation was only going to involve schools, but your councillors have insisted that residents living nearby by as well as amenity groups like the Dulwich Society are also engaged in the debate.

Rosendale School and the new Elmgreen School are major users of the site as well as the primary schools soccer league involving over 30 Lambeth schools and a junior rugby league team.

“The hope is that all these organised groups will continue to share the playing fields,” says Clare.

“But it is essential that local people have their say as well and that the money is spent wisely and not on gimmicks.”
