Now for change: Michael Poole-Wilson for Prince's

Lambeth Conservatives have chosen experienced local campaigner Michael Poole-Wilson to fight the Prince’s Ward by-election on June 4th.  Michael has lived in Kennington since 2002.

He is active in the community, has served as a school governor since 2006 at Lansdowne, a special school in Lambeth, and campaigned vigorously against cuts at St Thomas’s hospital (where both his parents once worked).

Michael works as a solicitor and is passionate about civil liberties – opposing authoritarian government policies on ID cards and detention without charge.

  1. Michael Poole-Wilson was born in Lambeth and grew up both there and in Southwark.

  2. It’s very sweet of Michael’s Mum to clarify that.

  3. Go for it Mike. As your namesake Mr Michael Jackson says, “Gonna make a difference, gonna make a change”. All the very best.

  4. THE LAMBETH PAN DISABILITY FORUM WOULD LIKE YOU AND OTHER CANDIDATES IN THE COUNCIL BY-ELECTION TO SPEAK AT THEIR MEETING TO BE HELD ON MAY 28TH BETWEEN 1.00 PM AND 3.00PM, OR NOMINATE SOMEONE TO SPEAK ON YOUR BEHALF

  5. Nice to hear somoene speaking up for civil liberties.

You won’t get THAT from Labour…

  6. I hear that Michael didn’t win… but pushed the Tory vote up from 500+ to 700+

    Well done to him.

Judging from the county council results, it looks like Labour’s days are numbered… but let’s hope Lambeth doesn’t buck the trend again!

  7. I attended the North Lambeth Leaseholder Forum last night 14/7/2009 where I learned that Motion 20 which relates to scrapping the double-charging policy which Lambeth Council imposes on leaseholders who install their own windows appears to have been either put on hold or dismissed. Councillors Mark Harrison and Jeremy Cline were present and they, together with the chairman of the meeting advised lobbying Councillors, so I accessed the website and found you. I am not familiar with the procedures and being a conservative voter I would like to know that I can rely on you to do whatever it is you do in dealing with issues such as this.
