Norwood club to be ‘monitored’
Lambeth Council has agreed to investigate complaints from residents relating to a West Norwood club – after reports of shots being fired by people leaving the venue.
Incidents of antisocial behaviour from revellers leaving West Norwood Snooker Club on Norwood Road have caused many residents to complain to Thurlow Park Councillor Clare Whelan.
Clare said: “Residents’ fears had escalated after they reported hearing shots fired as people left the club in August. This is a serious incident that has come on the back of previously low-level antisocial behaviour. It’s not acceptable that people are afraid to walk back to their homes late at night.”
Cllr Whelan has called for officials who could help to deal with the problem to get together to work towards a solution and a public meeting has been organised.
