Glyn Chambers - Vauxhall's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate

Vauxhall Conservatives have selected local campaigner Glyn Chambers to be their candidate at the forthcoming General Election.  In a contest that involved a number of high calibre candidates, Glyn was chosen after many years’ experience in fighting for the interests of local residents across our area.

On being selected, Glyn said:  “I am honoured and delighted that my fellow Conservatives here have decided to put their trust in me.  I promise to give Vauxhall voters the real choice of voting for change whenever the current government has the guts to call a General Election.  Kate Hoey is highly regarded by some, but fundamentally four more years of Ms Hoey means four more years of Gordon Brown, Alastair Darling and Peter Mandelson wrecking the economy and the country.”

Glyn was born and grew up in Belfast , was educated at Cambridge & the LSE and has lived in Vauxhall since 2000.

“Like many Londoners, I did not grow up here but found it to be an exciting and dynamic place to come to live and work.  No part of our city reflects that more clearly than Vauxhall and it is seen in all of the people who live here.  I have become actively involved in our local community, for example as a School Governor of a local special school, and I look forward to extending my community work as Conservative candidate and then as Member of Parliament,” Glyn added.

At the General Election, Vauxhall Conservatives will be campaigning on Labour’s failures on the economy, on health, on crime, on education, on transport, all of which affect local residents.

“But,” explained Glyn “we will also be articulating our positive vision for change – how we will mend the damage that Labour have done to our society and economy.  That’s what I look forward to doing with great zeal locally.”
